I know, it has been quite a while and I seem to constantly neglect my blog. Well these days I've been busy with school and personal life, some good and some bad. Well for starters I got elected Vice-President of my senior class next year!! I already know I'm about to be busy next year planning for my fellow seniors and also coursework at CSU but its all good. I can handle it with God behind me =)
Anyways, the purpose of this post is to inform you guys on this GREAT book that I just finished reading. I seriously believe this book has changed me for the better. "Letters to a Young Sister: DeFINE Your Destiny" by Hill Harper is definitely a must read. I was given the book as a gift and really did not think much of it until I read the forward by Ms. Gabrielle Union (love that lady even more now). The book in all is very inspirational and covers just about everything that a teenage girl faces from boys, sex, money, and parents. This book can really change someone's life and I think every young girl should read it.
One thing he mentioned in one of his letters is to write a plan of your life as if you are planning a house. Basically you are being specific about what is it that you want out of life. When that is done you can now look at the list and work on achieving those goals. Another lesson I learned was to omit the words can't, try, and think from my vocabulary. I need to begin to speak with confidence because using those words leaves a door open for failure. Okay well it's time I get back to my AP US History Final Assignment =(
